About TMAT
Bridging Taiwan and Canada since 1995
The Taiwan Merchants Association of Toronto (TMAT) was founded in 1995 as a non-profit business organization. Our members are outstanding entrepreneurs and professionals who immigrated from Taiwan to Canada, coming together to establish a meaningful presence in North American business and trade.
Our Three-Fold Mission
To foster networking and business collaboration among Taiwanese merchants.
To advance economic, trade, and cultural exchange between Canada and Taiwan.
To elevate the professional and social standing of our members.
A Global Network
TMAT is a proud member of the global Taiwanese chamber system. Our parent body is the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of North America (TCCNA), which unites 42 member organizations; above that sits the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (WTCC), spanning six continents — North America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania. This network gives our members unparalleled access to global business intelligence and relationships.

Our Clubhouse
TMAT is permanently headquartered within the Metropolitan Square — the spiritual home of the Taiwanese diaspora in Toronto. The central location, excellent transportation access, and vibrant cultural surroundings provide the ideal setting for our members and activities.
