Three decades of TMAT milestones
- 1995
TMAT is officially founded
Founded by inaugural President LiPang Chang and a group of dedicated Taiwanese-Canadian entrepreneurs.
- 2006
YTMAT (youth chapter) established
Under TMAT's full support, the Young Taiwan Merchants Association of Toronto was founded to serve young professionals aged 18–35.
- 2015
Clubhouse Fund launched by President Marie Chang
During her term, 21st-term President Marie Chang launched the Clubhouse Fund that would later make TMAT's permanent home possible.
- 2019
2019 Charter revision ratified
On June 29, 2019, members ratified the updated TMAT Charter — expanding to three vice presidents and strengthening the Supervisory Board.
- 2022
New clubhouse opens
Under 27th-term President Grace Cheng, TMAT acquired its first owned clubhouse and moved into its new home at Metropolitan Square in Richmond Hill.

Joint statement supporting Taiwan's CPTPP bid
TMAT issued a joint statement supporting Taiwan's CPTPP application, receiving public endorsements from multiple Canadian MPs.
- 2022
Taiwanese legislators visit TMAT
Legislators Chiou Chih-wei, Chung Chia-pin, and Hsu Chih-chieh visited TMAT and industry partners to discuss the CPTPP.
- 2023
29th president handover ceremony
Outgoing 28th President John Chung handed over the presidency to incoming 29th President Spencer Lee.
- 2024
"Toronto Night" Annual Gala
Hosted a grand gala at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North, gathering political and business leaders from Taiwan and Canada.
- 2025
Andrew Yang assumes the presidency
Vice President Andrew Yang officially assumes the TMAT presidency in 2025.
