On July 30, 2023, TMAT convened its 28th Board and General Members Meeting together with the handover ceremony for the 29th Presidency. Outgoing President John Chung formally transferred governance, finances, assets, and the association seal to incoming President Spencer Lee in the presence of the Chief Supervisor and the entire board.
President Chung reviewed the key achievements of his term: the acquisition and opening of TMAT's new clubhouse, the successful 28th-term "Toronto Night" Gala, deepened ties with TCCNA and WTCC, and TMAT's advocacy before all levels of Canadian government to support Taiwan's inclusion in international organizations.
In his inauguration speech, President Spencer Lee thanked outgoing leadership and the board for their support, and pledged to carry forward TMAT's three-fold mission — promoting Taiwan-Canada economic and cultural exchange, serving members, and caring for the community.
