On the morning of July 28, 2022, Taiwanese legislators Chiou Chih-wei, Chung Chia-pin, and Hsu Chih-chieh visited TMAT at 10:30 a.m. and toured industry representatives including Crystal Canada Window & Doors and NObrand Icewine winery. That evening, TMAT hosted a welcome dinner attended by Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown and MP Bob Saroya.
The central purpose of the visit was to advance Taiwan's application to join the CPTPP (Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership) and to seek Canadian support for Taiwan to become a member state as soon as possible. All three legislators underscored the importance of the CPTPP for Taiwan's industries and emphasized that Taiwan stands fully prepared to embrace the opportunities the agreement offers.
TMAT will continue to serve as a bridge for business and political exchange between Taiwan and Canada, advancing an ever closer bilateral relationship.
