In May 2022, TMAT issued a public statement in support of Taiwan's inclusion in the World Health Organization (WHO). Attendees at the statement event included: Chen Kuan-chung, Deputy Director-General of TECO Toronto; Sun Kuo-hsiang, Director of the OCAC Education Center; TMAT President Grace Cheng; Vice President Daniel Pan; Honorary Presidents Philip Ying and Timo Yu; former Director Mei-Ping Su; Directors Jason Lin, Cheng-yuan Wang, and Spencer Lee; Chief Supervisor Marie Chang; Supervisor Zhu-e Wang; as well as Hua-Ling Ge, President of the Toronto Chinese Business Association.
TMAT emphasized that Taiwan possesses a world-class medical system and rich epidemic-prevention experience, and is well positioned to make important contributions to global health security. The WHO, as the primary platform for global public health, should not exclude Taiwan on political grounds. TMAT calls on the international community to support Taiwan's participation in the WHO so that Taiwan may stand alongside other nations in safeguarding the health and well-being of all peoples.
